There can be only one little mermaid!

I wanted to try my hand at "mermaidifying" the Disney (non-anthro) heroines. I tried to include some of the less remembered ones, who deserve far more attention. I had a lot more fun drawing the later Disney gals, since their features are far more diverse and unique. ( A lot of the early women look too much alike, except with different hairstyles. Boring!) I also imagine that the "older" characters get awfully pissy when it's not all about them. Especially Alice, who some of Ariel's looked are based off of, and she only get a fraction of the love.

This piece took me a week to draw, color and assemble all the 'maids. Hand dawn, colored in Photoshop.

UPDATE: You ever had an art piece that you're really happy with, but over time you keep finding flaws and things you're not happy with? That was me with this drawing. So I went back, corrected a few of the girls I didn't think came out quite right the first time around, and decided to add some of the new ones that weren't around when I originally drew it. I'm much happier with it now, but it's getting a bit crowded in the ol' Disney ocean, isn't it?
